About Me

Hi! My name is Joia Putnoi and I recently completed my Bachelors degree at the University Vermont, where I studied English with a double minor in Environmental Studies and Reporting & Documentary Storytelling. I am passionate about keeping communities informed with equitable storytelling. I spent the last 14 months interning in the Vermont Public newsroom where I pitched, reported and produced radio stories, helped host Vermont Public's daily news podcast, and contributed to the launch of their first environmental newsletter. This past year, an audio piece of mine was recognized for a 2023 Public Media Journalists Association Award. I have recently moved to Brooklyn, New York and am looking for a job where I can continue to develop my journalism skills.
